Tell Congress to Support a Fully Funded & Staffed U.S. Department of Education
NASP believes education is a fundamental civil right, and the federal government can, and should, play a critical role in advancing educational equity throughout the United States. Maintaining a high-quality public education system is one of the greatest responsibilities of the United States and one of the wisest investments in our nation’s future. Ensuring all students have access to a high-quality public education remains a national priority that requires dedicated resources and attention. Like many educators, parents, and students, we are deeply concerned by ongoing efforts to shrink, dismantle, and defund the Department of Education and federal investments in public education.

Join NASP in advocating for a comprehensive, strategic, integrated, and coordinated Federal role in education, including: policy and investments; oversight, accountability, and protection of student rights; and informing the public. The federal government plays a critical role in supporting the effective, consistent, and efficient implementation, oversight, integration, and accountability of ESSA, IDEA, Section 504, relevant civil rights laws, and other Federal laws and programs aimed at improving school and student outcomes.

Contact Congress to support a fully funded, staffed, and empowered federal U.S. Department of Education.
