Tell Governor Pritzker No Assisted Suicide
In the early hours of October 31, the Illinois State Senate took up and passed a bill to legalize assisted suicide.  SB 1950 came up on the last day of the veto session, with Senators voting 30-27 (with two not voting). The House passed SB 1950 in May, so the bill now goes to Governor Pritzker.

The bill managed to pass after proponents of assisted suicide gutted an unrelated food safety bill and inserted the assisted suicide language.

Legalizing assisted suicide is not about choice but is abandonment of people in need of care not death.  It gives doctors a right to cause the death of a patient at a most vulnerable time of one’s life.

Citizens should contact Governor Pritzker urging him to veto this dangerous bill which will put vulnerable Illinoisians at risk.
