Great news! A new bill has been introduced in Congress that will expand seniors’ access to non-opioids in Medicare Part D. The Alternatives to Prevent Addiction in the Nation (Alternatives to PAIN) Act, S. 475, was recently introduced in the Senate by Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Jimmy Panetta (D-AZ), and in the House, H.R. 1227 by Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA) and Nanette Barajan (D-CA).
This new legislation is an important step forward in the movement to ensure that patients and providers have access to non-addictive, safe, and effective non-opioid acute pain management therapies at the pharmacy counter.
