Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative
Protect Our Bottle Bill
Oregon’s Bottle Bill is one of our most cherished environmental legacies. Oregonians return and recycle more than 2 billion beverage containers every year, providing essential support to families across the state and keeping litter out of our rivers, beaches, parks and forests.

Now the Bottle Bill is in jeopardy, and we need your help as a valued Green Bag customer to save it. Legislators and the Governor are proposing changes that would harm and potentially destroy the Bottle Bill by gutting the program to fund wildfire management. The NEW legislative proposal would take resources away from the Bottle Bill and will result in either a significant increase in user fees for participating in the Green Bag Program or elimination of that program entirely. Not only is the Bottle Bill unrelated to wildfires but changing it would break a renowned system that has worked successfully in Oregon for more than 50 years.

Send your message today to your legislative representatives and the Governor asking them to remove the Bottle Bill from HB 3940A and keep it out of any wildfire funding package.

While finding sustainable wildfire solutions is critical, taking resources away from Oregon’s Bottle Bill programs is not the right approach.

Let’s protect our Bottle Bill!
