For generations, the Santiam Canyon has been a strong, pro-life community, free from abortion.
Now, a proposed merger between Santiam Hospital and Salem Health threatens that legacy. Santiam Hospital does not perform abortions, but Salem Health does— meaning a merger would bring abortion to the Santiam Canyon for the first time in history.
Oregon Right to Life strongly opposes introducing abortion services in the Santiam community.

As a pro-life Oregonian, I am very concerned that any kind of working agreement with Salem Hospital that does not explicitly prevent abortions from taking place at Santiam Hospital or its clinics may allow, for the first time in Santiam Hospital's history, that unborn children lose their lives to abortion in the Santiam Canyon.
I implore you to please continue to stand strong for the lives and health of all residents, both born and unborn, and reject this proposed merger.
Thank you so much for your consideration.
