Support HB 3746 To Boost Condo Construction!
Oregon’s statute of repose for construction defects is longer than many of our western state peers, forcing developers, financiers, and insurers to take on much higher risk when building condominiums than they do in other states. This heightened risk has greatly suppressed condo production in Oregon.

Condominiums often provide an entry opportunity for homeownership at a price point more affordable to the median family. Unless Oregon reforms its construction defect liability laws to enable more condo production, this key form of entry-level homeownership opportunity will remain underrepresented in our housing mix.

HB 3746 would help address this problem by reducing developer risk, providing an off-ramp for developers to cure defects in order to avoid litigation, and ensuring consumer protection.

Opponents of HB 3746 are working hard to kill this important bill. We need YOU to write in your SUPPORT for HB 3746 today!
