Home Visiting Coalition
Take Action Now, Ask Your Organization to Sign-On to This Letter

On behalf of the National Home Visiting Coalition (HVC), PAT invites all state and local organizations (PAT affiliates/implementing agencies/state office organizations) to sign a letter asking Congress to prioritize Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) funding and needed flexibilities for home visitors during the coronavirus crisis.

We anticipate that Congress will be working on additional emergency funding and legislation in the coming days and weeks, and we believe resources for home visiting should be included. Here is a link to sign on to the letter, and the details of the HVC ask.

We're 150 signatures short of 500 signatures. Let's help the Home Visiting Coalition send a strong letter! The deadline to sign on is Thursday, April 16, 2020.

Please note: This is an organizational sign-on letter. Please forward this email request to your executive director or CEO to add your implementing agency/organization to this letter. (Not for individuals to sign).

Home Visiting: A Lifeline During the Coronavirus Pandemic, Recommendations for Congress

The photo above is Josephine "Nene" Nave, a PAT nurse home visitor, on a videoconference call with a family enrolled in PAT. Nurse Nave held teleconferencing visits for the first time in March 2020 as a response to the COIVD-19 pandemic. Parents as Teachers National Center has been pilot testing virtual home visiting for several years.

In this article, CAP discusses the need for legislation to address the pandemic, and urges Congress to take action to increase funding and flexibility for the MIECHV program, and to consider the recommendations developed by advocates, including the national Home Visiting Coalition.
