Protect Access to Pharmacies for State Employees and Communities
Pharmacies across New York are closing—and patients are losing access to care.

A major reason: pharmacies are often reimbursed below the cost of medications, meaning they lose money every time they fill a prescription.

Now, NYSHIP—the State’s own health plan—is contributing to the problem.

The Governor’s budget includes a 5.6% increase for NYSHIP. This funding must be directed to pharmacies.

At a minimum, pharmacies should be reimbursed at the Medicaid rate. They should not be paid less for serving state employees than Medicaid patients.

👉 Tell your legislator: Support fair pharmacy reimbursement and protect access to care.
