Tell your legislator to support the bipartisan effort to stop the Bathroom-Locker Room Law
A year ago the Bathroom-Locker Room Law went into effect and many of the predicted results have begun to occur. On Christmas Eve of 2016, barely three months after this unsafe and unfair law took effect, a man entered a women's room in a TJ Maxx store, remained there for over a half an hour taking pictures of women.
When a woman complained, the store employees took no action for fear of a lawsuit for violating the man's right to be in the bathroom.
While a referendum on this law is on the ballot for 2018 when voters will get a chance vote against this dangerous and unfair law, you can take steps to stop it right now!
Representative Colleen Garry (D - Dracut) and Representative Jim Lyons (R - Andover) have filed bills to get rid of the Bathroom-Locker Room Law. Representative Garry's bill, HB 2281
, would restrict an anatomical boy or man from using the girl's locker room or women's room or from participating in girls sports or therapeutic activities. Representative Lyon's bill, HB 2321
, would simply repeal the Bathroom-Locker Room Law.
Earlier this year, Global News
reported that a women's shelter kicked out two women who complained about a man, claiming to be a woman, being allowed to stay the shelter.
We need to get rid of this unsafe and unfair law now before this happens here!
