Protect communities from car pollution
Action Alert
Delaying the implementation of standards that exist to protect our communities and God’s planet from dangerous pollutants is only going to bring harm, illness, and costly health impacts to our communities.

– National Religious Partnership for the Environment public comment opposing delay in vehicle pollution standards

Urge EPA to uphold pollution standards

Last month, the Environmental Protection Agency proposed a two-year delay in requiring car manufacturers to adopt stricter pollution standards for cars and light trucks. Please join other people of faith in opposing this delay by signing a public comment before Monday, July 6 that was drafted by our partners at the National Religious Partnership for the Environment.

EPA officials claim that the standards issued under the Biden Administration are “unattainable” because the American public has “overwhelmingly rejected” electric vehicles. Environmentalists argue that the decline in electric vehicle sales is more due to changes in policy under the Trump Administration than an outright rejection of the cars.

Public health experts had supported the Biden Administration standards as a step toward reducing respiratory illnesses caused by pollution from vehicle tailpipes.
