Individuals at higher risk of breast cancer or who have an abnormal finding on their mammogram need more than simply a screening mammogram to get to a potential breast cancer diagnosis. But insurance plans may not sufficiently cover these important follow-up screenings. That means that costs can stand in the way of a patient getting the diagnosis and care they need. When high costs cause patients to delay needed imaging, there is a risk of their cancer advancing, making it deadlier and more costly to treat. HB 271 will eliminate cost sharing for medically necessary diagnostics and supplemental imaging.
Join us in asking the Ohio legislature to support HB 271 so that Ohioans do not have to choose between costs and a timely breast cancer diagnosis!
