Help Support the Seal of Biliteracy!
As the number of English learners (ELs) continues to increase across the United States, the demand for bilingual education programs that serve these students has also increased.

In order to recognize high school students who have achieved proficiency in English and at least one other language, 38 states have implemented the Seal of Biliteracy. The Bilingual Education Seal and Teaching Act (BEST Act), will establish a grant to help states further implement the Seal. As a strong proponent of bilingual and multilingual learners, TESOL, in conjunction with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, the National Association of Bilingual Education, and the National Council of State Supervisors for Languages, helped to create the guidelines for implementing the Seal of Biliteracy.

Helping states implement the Seal of Biliteracy will help ensure that our students and English learners are better prepared to succeed in the global economy, while also reinforcing the country's commitment to providing every student with the opportunity to learn English and other languages.

TESOL is asking you to take action today and tell the Senate to pass the BEST Act!
