Defend the Farmington Flows! Support Bill 5355 TODAY.
The Upper Farmington River, in Northwestern Connecticut, is a federally designated Wild and Scenic River from the Goodwin Dam to its confluence with the Nepaug River. The releases and holdings of the Colebrook River Dam are reportedly impacting the health of the river and the trout that spawn in the system. Ecologically focused flows are needed to protect the Farmington River. The time is NOW to speak up in support of Bill 5355.

The objectives of Bill 5355 are two-fold: 1) for DEEP to consult the entities who release the water from Colebrook River and Goodwin Dams to achieve optimal flows in the Farmington River  and 2) for DEEP to make an overall recommendation on how the waters of the Upper Farmington River should be managed throughout the year to avoid adversely impacted aquatic life, farms, and businesses - including guided fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and more.

How can you help? Contact your local legislature today to make certain they are directly in support of Bill 5355 to improve the flows of the Farmington River!
