Wild Snake River salmon and steelhead are holding on by a thread. Over the past 25 years, the Snake basin has averaged less than two returning adults for every 100 smolt.
Despite the billions of dollars invested in the hydropower system and fish recovery, the Northwest is left with a fraction of what was once the greatest run of salmon and steelhead in the Lower 48.
Breaching the four lower Snake River dams is the single most important step we can take to recover Snake River salmon and steelhead. It is time for the federal government to invest in a comprehensive solution that upholds Tribal treaty rights, restores wild fish populations, and propels the region forward.
Please contact your elected officials in Congress and tell them: bold action is needed to recover Snake River salmon and steelhead.
