The Inflation Reduction Act’s energy incentives are critical for lining up hundreds of thousands of UA work hours and providing tax credits for energy projects across the country. They’ll be used to construct hydrogen hubs, natural gas infrastructure, carbon capture and sequestration, geothermal and manufacturing plants. But the “Big Beautiful Bill” would wipe out every credit except a narrow carve-out for nuclear energy. 

If that stands, an estimated $80 billion in private investment will flee overseas, hundreds of thousands of domestic jobs will be lost and the Davis-Bacon wages and registered apprenticeship incentives tied to those projects will disappear with it. 
 

We fought too hard for these historic wins only to see them ripped away. These are not republican or democratic jobs – these are AMERICAN jobs.

  • HyVelocity Hub (TX • LA)
• Keep all other IRA energy tax credits intact—carbon capture, geothermal, manufacturing, and more—along with the Davis-Bacon and apprenticeship standards that support our union’s hard-earned wages and gold-standard training programs.
• Reject any deal that trades away long-term UA careers for short-term politics.
