Background
As Reform Jews, we are deeply concerned about the rise in violent antisemitism. Over the past few years, our Reform Jewish community has experienced several tragic antisemitic attacks, including the assault on Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan (March 2026); the arson attack at Beth Israel Congregation in Jackson, Mississippi (January 2026); and the hostage crisis at Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville, Texas (January 2022), among others. At this perilous moment of rising violent antisemitism, Congress must take meaningful action to bolster security and combat hate.
