2024 Annual Meeting Announcement
Thank you for joining your local PTA! When you joined, you became a valued member of the Washington State PTA (WSPTA). This message is to inform you of some upcoming important business WSPTA will be conducting, and how you can participate in the decisions. WSPTA has elected to proceed under subsection 6 of RCW 24.03A.405.
There are two major types of decisions that will be voted on at our annual meeting, which will be held as part of our Convention on May 18-19, beginning at 9:00 AM. Complete information about the Convention and Annual Meeting, including registration, can be found on the Convention and Annual Meeting pages of our website. If you are interested in being a voting delegate, please contact your PTA President. Voting delegates should register before noon on May 6.
What will be voted on at the meeting?
First, just like your local PTA, WSPTA needs to elect a nominating committee.
Two members have nominated themselves to serve on the 2024-2026 Nominating Committee:
Second, like all nonprofit organizations, WSPTA operates based on a set of rules determined by our members. These WSPTA Uniform Bylaws also govern how local PTAs operate, so they are very important for all PTAs in Washington. At the annual meeting, delegates will be considering several proposed changes to the bylaws and resolutions.
