Some members of the Minnesota House of Representatives are dragging their feet on passing legislation that would extend the PTE Tax election — and ensure any federal conformity or other tax legislation enacted this session includes that extension. Lack of action will cost local small businesses thousands at a time when they can't afford another tax hit.
We cannot let this happen.
Contact your representative in the Minnesota House today and tell them to restore the Pass-Through Entity (PTE) Tax by passing House File 3127 before April 15. Complete the form on the right and your message will be automatically sent to your representative and Governor Walz.
Small businesses have depended on the MN PTE Tax for years. The PTE Tax lowers the federal tax bill for over 66,000 Minnesota businesses and has no impact on state revenues. This is a bipartisan bill with broad support from small businesses across the state — and now is the time for our legislators to stand with the local businesses that are the backbone of the Minnesota economy.
If the Minnesota House does not take action on HF 3127 before April 15, many Minnesota businesses will pay significantly higher taxes to the federal government instead of keeping that money here in Minnesota.
Governor Walz and Representative Aisha Gomez — do what's right. Pass House File 3127, extend the MN PTE Tax, and help small businesses flourish.
