We call on state legislators to provide initial funding, along with ongoing monies within the tuition rate, for resources and staff training dedicated to providing specialized professional development for Special Act School Districts (SASDs). This initiative aims to support students affected by trauma and equip staff with the tools and strategies needed to effectively manage the multiple, complex challenges of working with these students. 

We are appreciative of the funding added during the prior two budget cycles to allow for a study on the tuition rate-setting process for specialized schools like SASDs. We further request that SASDs are given the opportunity to provide input into the study and receive regular updates on the study process.
