Congress passed the No Surprises Act to protect patients and create a fair, binding payment process. Yet insurers continue to delay or withhold payments after losing Independent Dispute Resolution cases, ignore statutory deadlines, and face few meaningful consequences.

Physicians are frustrated. Practices are strained. Patient access is at risk. And insurers are telling the opposite story.

We are hearing that the House Ways and Means Committee may soon consider H.R. 4710 in a markup session, giving committee members a critical opportunity to advance the bill.

Time is running out. If the bill does not pass before the 119th Congress ends, it must be reintroduced next Congress and start the legislative process again.

H.R. 4710/S. 2420 is a targeted, bipartisan solution that strengthens enforcement, increases penalties for noncompliance, and helps ensure insurers make final IDR payments on time.
