Assembly Bill 1587 requires specified entities that facilitate or process a payment card transaction to track the purchases of firearms and ammunition with a new merchant category code.
Unfortunately, Governor Newsom already signed Senate Bill 135, allowing the Attorney General to increase the fee on ammunition eligibility checks.
