Tennessee: Two Pro-Sportsmen Bills Need Help
Last week, the Senate passed three vital bills to protect sportsmen from being evicted for having a firearm in their leased home and business (HB 469/SB 350), ban them from a patchwork of local hunting regulations across the state (HB 2017/SB 2028), and continue wildlife management through the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) (HB 1611/SB 1554).

We will keep you informed of when HB 469/SB 350 will be transmitted to Governor Lee for his consideration. In the meantime, please email your state representative, urging him/her to vote “Yes” on HB 2017/SB 2028 and HB 1611/SB 1554.

HB 469/SB 350 protects sportsmen and firearm owners who choose to rent their homes or places of business from eviction.

HB 2017/SB2028 ensures local governments, including cities, counties, and municipalities, cannot regulate the “manner and means” of taking wildlife, establishing that the sole authority to regulate hunting practices rests with the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA).

HB 1611/SB 1554 secures the future of our natural resources by extending the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission through June 30, 2030.

Our strength lies in our numbers; if we don’t take action, our voices go unheard, and our interests aren’t represented. Take 30 seconds to forward this email to your family, friends, and hunting buddies and urge them to Take Action Today.

There has never been a more crucial time in sportsmen’s history than now to be involved and engaged in protecting our way of life. The legacy of hunting, fishing, and trapping depends on our actions today. Urge your family and friends to join you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance in the fight against the rising tide of animal extremism and gun control activism.
