Vote Tomorrow to Expand Delaware’s Sunday Hunting & Modernize Sportsmen’s Rights
Tomorrow, May 5, the Senate Environment, Energy & Transportation Committee is scheduled to hear HB 278, a common-sense bill that increases recreational access for families and clarifies that Sunday hunting is permitted for all game species during their established seasons. It has already gained massive momentum, passing the House with an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 38 to 1.

Email the committee, urging them to report this important bill favorably out of committee. This bill is a common-sense modernization of Delaware’s hunting laws and expands recreational access for families who work during the week.

If passed, this bill will:

  • Expand Sunday Hunting: Remove the outdated restrictions and allow Sunday hunting for all game animals and birds during their established seasons.
  • Protect Landowner Rights: Ensure that private landowners and public agencies keep the final say on how their land is used.
  • Modernize Equipment: Simplify handgun and rifle ammunition regulations for deer hunting and update muzzleloader standards to match modern technology, along with other updates.
