Strong Podiatry Workforce
Action Alert
The U.S. is currently facing a shortage of health-care professionals, including podiatrists. Unfortunately, according to EducationData.net, medical students complete their education with an average of $250,000 in student debt. We must lead efforts for policy and funding for educational programs to recruit, retain, and grow the podiatric workforce. APMA is advocating for loan forgiveness programs for podiatrists, expanding educational funding so that podiatrist have access to that financial support, and promoting the value of podiatric physicians in collaborative care teams.
