The U.S. House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee hosted a hearing on Tuesday, September 15, which included H.R. 7905, the Diabetes Foot Health Access and Modernization Act. The bill would strengthen podiatrists’ authority in the Medicare documentation process for prescribing therapeutic shoes, replacing burdensome manual paperwork requirements with a simple, attestation framework. It also recognizes podiatrists as covered physicians under the federal Medicaid program, aligning with their classification in Medicare.
We need your help to keep building support for the legislation so Congress can pass it into law before the end of the year! Call your U.S. Representatives to cosponsor the bill today!
