Urge USDA to Reinstate Annual Household Food Security Report
Just months after Congress passed sweeping budget cuts to basic needs programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) canceled its annual Household Food Security report. By cancelling what has historically been one of the most important and reliable metrics we have, they are hiding the reality of America’s hunger crisis at the same time they are worsening it.

This move disables a critical, irreplaceable indicator of the health of our economy. Without it, policymakers and advocates will struggle to identify communities at greatest risk of hunger, document the impact of harmful policy changes on our food security levels, and evaluate the efficacy of our federal nutrition programs.

Please join MAZON in urging your Members of Congress to demand that USDA reinstate this report and ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible governance.
