The Administration for Community Living (ACL), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is vital in supporting people living with neuromuscular diseases and disabilities to access services and supports that help them live independently and contribute to their communities. However, recent actions to relocate services and reduce resources for the ACL threaten the neuromuscular community’s access to important programs.
Without access to resources provided by the ACL, many in the neuromuscular community would struggle to access services like in-home care, transportation, and family caregiver supports that help them remain in their homes and communities.
We need your help to make sure Congress protects the ACL. Contact your members of Congress and urge them to reject any proposals to cut or restructure ACL in ways that harm the communities MDA serves.
Thank you for speaking out to help us protect the independence of the neuromuscular community.
