Urge Congress to Pass Package of MDA Priorities
This week, key committees in Congress have released a Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Consolidated Appropriations bill – and it includes many top priorities for the neuromuscular disease community!

A vote on this bill is imminent, and your members of Congress need to hear from you today.

This bill supports:

  • A funding increase for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and policies that ensure neuromuscular disease research remains strong.
  • The Accelerating Kids’ Access to Care Act, improving access to Medicaid for children with rare and complex medical conditions.
  • The Give Kids a Chance Act, reauthorizing the rare pediatric disease priority review voucher (PRV) program.
  • ALS, FSHD, SMA, and Duchenne muscular dystrophy research through the U.S. Department of Defense’s medical research programs.
  • Stable funding for key muscular dystrophy, ALS, and newborn screening programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

Urge your members of Congress to support this vital funding bill today!
