There are only hours to act in NACDS RxIMPACT’s biggest campaign in the state of Illinois! Pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reform bill HB1697 passed the Illinois Senate with a 56-1 vote and the legislature will adjourn June 1. This means we have only HOURS to build support!
Without your help RIGHT NOW, the chance of PBM reform this year will fade away. Help NACDS RxIMPACT urge Illinois legislators to support and co-sponsor HB1697, the Prescription Drug Affordability Act that will ultimately lower prescription drug costs for patients and help end abusive practices by PBMs.
HB1697 ensures patients never pay more at the pharmacy than the actual cost of their medication. It protects patient choice by banning PBM steering to mail-order or affiliated pharmacies. It guarantees transparency by requiring PBMs to pass through 100% of rebates and disclose pricing practices. It also expands support for pharmacies serving underserved areas to prevent closures and protect access.
Pharmacy closures are accelerating across Illinois due to PBM practices, and this bill brings transparency, fairness, and restores access to care, especially in rural and underserved communities. Help NACDS RxIMPACT build support for HB1697!
