11/07/22 PHARMACY VOTER ALERT: Vote 11/8 to Join 30 Million Who Have Already Voted!
Action Alert
NACDS RxIMPACT is calling on YOU to make 2022 the year of the pharmacy voter by engaging in tomorrow’s November 8th elections that will elect 435 U.S. Representatives, 35 U.S. Senators, 36 state governors, and over 6,000 state legislators.

According to the University of Florida's U.S. Elections Project, more than 30 million people have already voted in the 2022 general elections – including more than 13 million in-person votes and more than 18 million mail-in ballots. Join the Pharmacy Voter movement and cast your vote tomorrow at the polls! Pharmacy is counting on you to vote for your candidates-of-choice – especially given the many changes since the 2020 elections.

For example, some states lost U.S House seats, some districts merged pitting two incumbents against each other, and some states even acquired new U.S. House seats. The 2020 Census and its population data was used to divvy up 435 districts – with each state entitled to at least one seat in the U.S. House. Beyond TX gaining two seats, CO, FL, MT, NC, and OR gained one U.S. House seat. But for every seat gained, another state with static growth or population losses had to lose one – as did with CA, IL, MI, NY, OH, PA, and WV losing each 1 congressional district seat. These changes have had – and will continue to have – great impact on the congressional roster elected tomorrow.

With nearly 75 Members of Congress not running per retirement, bids for other public office, and lost state primaries, we already know for a fact nearly 15% percent of the U.S. Congress will not return in 2023. A visible impact can also be seen on memberships of four key committees of jurisdiction determining the fate of pharmacy issues: 21% loss of the current U.S. Energy & Commerce Committee; 12% loss of the U.S. House Ways & Means Committee; 11% loss of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee; and 5% loss of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.
