The U.S. House of Representatives passed the budget resolution recently cleared by the U.S. Senate. The resolution is the first step in the reconciliation process, which would allow the passage of legislation with a simple majority without being subject to filibusters. The budget resolution contains $880 billion in cuts to health programs, including potential changes to Medicaid, among others. Next, the U.S. House and Senate Committees will begin their work to outline funding for the programs within their jurisdiction.
