June 10, 2025 by Laura Evans, Public Policy & Government Affairs, Vibrant Emotional Health

U.S. Representative Don Beyer (D-VA) led a bipartisan letter in support of $613 million for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (988 Lifeline). The letter, signed by a bipartisan group of 48 U.S. Representatives, is addressed to the House Appropriations Subcommittee with jurisdiction over federal health programs. In addition to funding support for the 988 Lifeline, the letter also expresses support for other suicide prevention programs within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Rep. Beyer leads the House Bipartisan Mental Health Caucus along with Representatives Andrea Salinas (D-OR), Don Bacon (R-NE), and Tony Gonzales (R-TX). Vibrant appreciates the support of the 988 Lifeline program from Rep. Beyer, the Bipartisan Mental Health Caucus, and the Representatives who signed onto the letter.
