Reject Cruel Budget Cuts to SNAP
Despite rising food prices and economic uncertainty plaguing millions of low-income American families, House Republicans have approved legislation that would cut almost $300 billion dollars from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) over the next decade — the largest cut to SNAP in history — in order to extend tax breaks for businesses and the wealthy. 

Targeting basic needs programs for budget cuts is morally indefensible and economically backwards. We must protect SNAP and ensure its life-saving benefits are available to anyone in need — regardless of circumstance. Strengthening and investing in programs like SNAP are essential ways that we, as taxpayers, support our friends and neighbors struggling with food insecurity.
