We need your help. Your state representative needs to know you support legalizing firearm suppressors. You have likely heard that Federal Courts have banned the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) from forcing Americans to complete an application and register with the government to be able to purchase a suppressor. This is the first step to treating suppressors the same as any other firearm accessory. 

However, we must now eliminate Ohio’s outdated 1930’s law that classifies suppressors as “dangerous ordnances.” This state-level law forces all dangerous ordnances in Ohio to be approved by the federal government after passing an extensive background check and submitting a registration of the item.  

This is where you can help, we need you to contact your State Representative letting them know you support SB 214. 

The Ohio Senate overwhelmingly passed Senate Bill 214, which removes suppressors from the “dangerous ordnance” list, then allowing Ohio’s firearm dealers to sell suppressors without requiring federal approval. The bill is now in the Ohio House of Representatives, and House leadership has assured us it will receive a vote very soon.

Twenty-seven states already allow for this freedom, including neighboring Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia.  Please contact your state representative and tell them you support their efforts to pass Senate Bill 214 to give Ohioans and Ohio firearm businesses these same freedoms.
