Your state legislature has reconvened for its new session.
This is a great time to educate your state legislators about how many individuals with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) depend on Medicaid for in-home caregiving and nursing and to access other healthcare, including SMA treatments, physical and occupational therapies, and medical devices.
Make sure your legislators know that Medicaid empowers children and adults with SMA, helping them to attend school, go to work, live independently, and engage in their communities.
Tell your state legislators to strengthen Medicaid and protect access to its vital caregiving supports, treatments, and healthcare services. In addition, ask them to avoid disruptions or gaps in healthcare and caregiving coverage due to your state's implementation of the new Medicaid work or community participation requirements.
