Child Care Industry Economic Impact:  

The Committee for Economic Development released a report in 2024 about the impact of the child care industry on local economies.  The CED Child Care and State Economies: 2024 Update report shows that the child care industry is important for children, parents, employers, and communities. In 2022, CED released a report, the Economic Impact of Paid Child Care. Part 2 of this report reviews the labor force participation of women (women with and without children), mothers with children from birth to age 14, with school-age children, and with children under age 5 -- both married and single families.
